Moreton Mirage
 
The Moreton Mirage is visible from Upton Road in Moreton and also across the Fender flyover and Bidston Rise, as well as parts of the Beechwood Estate. It is an atmospheric super refraction, which basically mean's it is a reflection caused by the layers of heat out at sea and the turbine's appear much close then they actually are as a result.
 
People who live in this area of the Wirral have undoubtedly noticed the turbines at some point, but never questioned their location of why they appear so large some day's and yet they don't appear at all on others. My uncle told me about it and I found it fascinating! I captured it on video and photo on Christmas Day 2007 whilst at my uncles and made a video about it on Boxing Day... it was subsequently featured in the Wirral Globe newspaper on the 23rd January 2008 after the editor of the Globe noticing the video on YouTube.
